Don Parkes

All of us at Moseley are saddened by the passing of our longest serving member, Don Parkes. Don joined Moseley in 1958 aged 18 and became first team scorer upon our move to our current ground in the mid sixties.
Don carried out that invaluable role in his own inimitable way for nearly 50 years and became a popular and well known figure amongst the Birmingham League scoring fraternity. He also served on the committee and was also a more than popular tourist in the days when we used to take Torquay by storm.
Upon his retirement from scoring Don loved nothing more than watching the first team following them home and away until his later years when he spent his Saturdays watching the cricket at Moseley and Sunday lunchtimes on his familiar perch at the bar enjoying his pint or two !!
Popular and respected by all the members he will be very much missed.
